The construction industry has the second-highest rate of suicide in the United States.\u00a0
It\u2019s a heartbreaking reality, one that rarely gets talked about, but affects so many of us.<\/p>\n

These aren\u2019t just statistics. They\u2019re our coworkers. Our friends. Our family. People we work beside every day who may be fighting silent battles.<\/p>\n

During Suicide Prevention Week<\/strong> (September 8\u201312), we\u2019re reminded that it\u2019s okay to not be okay, and it\u2019s more than okay to ask for help.<\/p>\n

This year, Construction Suicide Prevention Week asks us to “Build Community<\/a>” and look out for each other the way we would on a job site. That means checking in. Having real conversations. Being present when someone seems off. You don\u2019t have to be an expert. You just have to care.<\/p>\n

On Monday, September 8 at 1:50 p.m. CT, we joined teams across the country in a moment of silence<\/strong> to remember those we\u2019ve lost, and to commit to doing better for those still here.<\/p>\n
